Shadow Freddy, wanting more agony to feed, follows William's car, thinking he will continue killing. Later, when William pulls into the parking lot of Jr's, Shadow Freddy realizes there will be no killing spree, and so decides to target the closest person who is suffering: Michael.

I have been running with a theory that I know most don't agree with, and that's that you play as Michael Afton in the first 6 games, with you playing as William in the 7th. I was thinking about the timeline this morning in what order things happen in (Never easy) and if I understand it, the games chronologically are 4, 5, 2, 1, 3, 6 in that order.
